Database is a term used to describe a collection of data that is organized and generally stored and accessed by data users. This course studies the concepts of storing and managing data electronically through database systems, designing database systems, implementing the design results in a DBMS, using SQL for data transactions and procedural programs. The concepts of design and implementation in this course focus on the relational database model, which is still popularly used in the development of computer applications and the operation of organizational information systems
